Integrated in a full week of
seminars, congresses and workshops dedicated to the
Mouldmaking Industry, the International Forum on Innovation
and IPR Management will gather project managers, engineers
and designers for a proficient discussion over the main
trends on Intellectual Property and Innovation Management,
within the Value Systems of Tooling and Plastic Products.
The forum will be centred on the Innovation and IPR best
practices and case studies, in the framework of strategic
management of assets and competencies, R&D and
engineering, and specially focused on codevelopment contexts
and on the exploitation of opportunities within the value
chain, for the generation of adding value solutions for
customers.
The Forum on Innovation and IPR Management, being a
Moulds Event 2004 initiative is a CENTIMFE (Technological
Centre for the Mouldmaking, Special Tooling and Plastic
Industries) and CEFAMOL (The Portuguese Association for the
Mouldmaking Industry) organization developed in close
co-operation with the INPI – The Portuguese Institute for
the Industrial Property, the UIPP Network (Units for
Industrial Property Promotion) and several Industrial
associations and European R&D organizations.
Objectives:
To promote the discussion over Innovation Management
practices, protection strategies and Industrial
requirements in the Value System of Tooling and Plastics
Industries;
To advance collaboration and innovation strategies, on
the exploitation of value chain synergies for the
provision and development of adding value solutions;
To support an informed discussion over perspectives on
responsibilities, Intellectual Property management and
insights on conflicting interests inherent to the
co-development and engineering;
To promote the information sharing within the context
of:
Innovation and IPR Management best practices;
IPR Exploitation, Marketing and commercialization;
Exploitation of synergies and business
opportunities.

The Forum on Innovation and IPR Management will have as
main target audience:
Project Managers involved on New
Product/Technology/Solution Development for the
Automotive, Engineering and Tooling Industries;
R&D, Design and Engineering Managers;
IP Experts and IP Managers;

The International Forum on Innovation and IPR Management,

the Moulds Event 2004 are:
Rapid Product Development 2004 – A scientific and
technological conference dedicated to the presentation
of research papers and case studies related to the
Moulds and Die Industries. Innovative engineering
solutions and the development of communications on
emergent technologies will be broadly supported.
Brokerage Event 2004 – An initiative aimed at: the
creation of the building blocks towards the
establishment of international innovation networks
involving Moulds and Dies companies, Suppliers, R&D
organizations and Customers; the presentation and
development of adding value Business partnerships,
market-oriented R&D and Innovation European
Projects; and the generation of market oriented
added-value technological solutions, systems, services
and products.
International Conference “Moldes Portugal 2004”
– A privileged forum for the discussion on the main
business trends of the Moulds and Die Industries.
Technology Exhibition – Taking place in parallel to
the several initiatives of the Moulds Event 2004 the
Technology Exhibition will be the showcase of innovative
products, technologies and systems, developed within and
for the Industry.
